SASSA Payment Dates July 2026 — All Grants & SRD R370

Official SASSA payment dates for July 2026 for all grants, including the SRD R370. Find your personal payment date, understand the new Fourth Payment Day, and know what to do if your money does not arrive.

Official Dates Updated July 2026 All Grant Types

SASSA pays different grants on different days each month. Permanent grants like the Older Persons, Disability, and Child Support grants follow a fixed schedule published at the start of each month. The SRD R370 grant works differently — each applicant receives a personal payment date that appears on the status portal once their application is approved.

This page lists all confirmed July 2026 payment dates, explains the new Fourth Payment Day introduced by SASSA, and tells you step by step what to do if your payment has not arrived.

📅 Your SRD R370 Payment Date Is Personal

The SRD R370 grant does not have a single fixed date for everyone. Go to srd.sassa.gov.za, enter your ID and registered phone number, and your personal payment date appears next to your Approved status. SASSA also sends an SMS to your registered number when payment is scheduled.

What Is the Fourth Payment Day? (New in 2026)

SASSA introduced a Fourth Payment Day in July 2026 for a specific group of beneficiaries. Most South Africans are not aware of this change. Here is everything you need to know:

👤 Who Is on the 4th Payment Day?

Beneficiaries SASSA has identified as needing a grant review or eLife Certification. This is not a punishment — SASSA separates these payments to avoid delaying everyone else.

🔔 How Do You Know If You Are Affected?

SASSA sends an SMS to your registered phone number notifying you. If you received your grant on the 7th instead of the normal first-week dates, you are on the 4th payment day.

🏢 What Must You Do?

Visit your nearest SASSA office to complete the review process or eLife Certification. If you do not go, your future grant payments may be suspended.

⌛ How Long Do You Have?

Act as soon as you receive the SMS. SASSA has not published a fixed deadline but delays increase the risk of your grant being suspended. Do not wait.

🔒 Why Did SASSA Introduce the 4th Payment Day?

SASSA conducts regular reviews to verify that beneficiaries are still eligible, to prevent payments to people who have passed away, and to detect fraud. The Fourth Payment Day allows SASSA to process the majority of grants on the normal schedule while handling review cases separately. In July 2026, SASSA also announced that 14 Eastern Cape officials had been dismissed for fraud — these reviews are part of a broader effort to protect public funds.

How to Find Your Personal SRD R370 Payment Date

Every SRD R370 applicant has their own individual payment date. SASSA does not publish a single date for all SRD recipients. Your date depends on when your application was verified each month.

  1. Go to srd.sassa.gov.za on any phone or computer.
  2. Enter your 13-digit South African ID number.
  3. Enter the cellphone number you used when you applied.
  4. If your status shows Approved, your personal payment date appears immediately on the same page.
  5. SASSA also sends an SMS to your registered number once your payment is confirmed.
  6. Funds are processed overnight and are available from 8–9 am on your payment date. If nothing shows by midday, wait until the next morning before calling SASSA.

Approved But No Payment Date Showing?

This is normal. Payment dates are assigned in batches. If your status shows Approved but no date appears, check again after 2–3 days. If it still does not appear after one week, check that your banking details are correct at srd.sassa.gov.za. Incorrect banking details are the most common reason for an approved grant with no payment date.

🛑 SASSA Gold Card Deadline — August 31, 2026

🚨 Your SASSA Gold Card Stops Working After 31 August 2026

Postbank is replacing all SASSA Gold Cards with new Black Cards. After 31 August 2026, Gold Cards will stop working completely. You will not be able to withdraw your grant money with a Gold Card after this date — even if your grant is approved.

💳

How to Replace Your Card

Visit any Postbank branch or SASSA office with your South African ID. The new Black Card is completely free. Do not wait — queues are already long at most branches.

📍

Where to Go

Any Postbank branch, post office that offers Postbank services, or SASSA service centre. You can also call Postbank on 0800 53 54 55 to find your nearest branch.

What to Bring

Your South African ID book or smart card. You do not need your old Gold Card to get the replacement. Your grant will automatically be linked to the new Black Card.

My Payment Date Passed But I Got No Money — What to Do

If your status shows Approved with a payment date but the money has not arrived, work through these steps in order:

  • 1
    Wait until midday

Funds process overnight and are usually available from 8–9 am on your payment date. If it is still morning, wait until at least midday before taking any action.

  • 2
    Check your banking details

Go to srd.sassa.gov.za and confirm your bank account number is correct. A wrong digit in your account number will cause your payment to fail silently.

  • 3
Check if you still have a Gold Card

If you are still using an old SASSA Gold Card, it may already be showing errors. Replace it immediately at any Postbank branch. The deadline is 31 August 2026.

  • 4
Check if your account is active

If you have not used your bank account for more than 6 months, it may be dormant or closed. Contact your bank directly to reactivate it.

  • 5
    Call Postbank

Call Postbank on 0800 53 54 55 (free). They can check if a payment was sent to your account and identify why it did not arrive.

  • 6
    Call SASSA

If Postbank cannot resolve it, call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11 (free). Have your ID number and payment date reference ready before you call.

How to Collect Your SASSA Grant Payment

Once your payment date is confirmed, there are three ways to access your money:

🏭

Direct Bank Deposit

If you registered a personal bank account with SASSA, your payment is deposited directly. Supported banks include Capitec, FNB, ABSA, Standard Bank, Nedbank, TymeBank, and African Bank. The account must be in your own name.

🏪

Cash at a Retailer

SASSA issues a cash send voucher that you can collect at Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, or Boxer. Show your South African ID to receive your cash. No card required.

💳

Postbank Black Card

Use your new Postbank Black Card at any ATM or participating retailer. If you still have an old Gold Card, replace it before 31 August 2026 at any Postbank branch or SASSA office.

🔒 Your Money Does Not Expire

If you cannot collect on your payment date, your money stays in your account. There is no deadline to collect — your balance remains available until you withdraw it. The only exception is if your Postbank account has been completely inactive for more than 6 months, in which case contact Postbank on 0800 53 54 55.
