My Payment Date Has Passed — Why Has the Money Not Arrived?

If your status shows Approved and your payment date has passed but the money has not reflected in your account, follow these steps in order:

Step 1 — Wait 2 to 3 business days Bank processing takes time. EFT payments can take 2 to 3 business days after SASSA releases your batch before the money reflects in your account. If your date was yesterday, wait another day or two before escalating.

Step 2 — Check your banking details on the portal Log into srd.sassa.gov.za and confirm that your bank account number, bank name, and account holder details are correct. An incorrect account number is the most common cause of a payment that was sent but did not reflect. If your details need updating, make the correction immediately — it takes one payment cycle to take effect.

Step 3 — Check whether your bank account is active A dormant or closed bank account will cause your payment to bounce back to SASSA. Contact your bank to confirm the account is active and in good standing.
